More than 100 parents with special needs children are protesting outside Leinster House this lunchtime against cuts to the domiciliary care allowance.
Parents say the monthly allowance of €309.50 is vital in helping to give their children a better quality of life.
Many have had their allowances stopped in recent months. Thousands of applications are still under review.
Deirdre Kiernan from Straffan in Co Kildare, who has a daughter with down syndrome and autism, said she is "livid" with the Government.
"The injustice of it all is outrageous. It is beyond belief...These people…are not bothering to take cuts and their advisors - advising for what, I ask you? - are getting pay rises every other day,".
"Jesus Christ, I get angry (and that's) a very mild word for it I can assure you."
